Our Materials: Quality & Care

At Soulamour, we select every piece in our collection with durability and high wearing comfort in mind. We value materials that can accompany you in your everyday life and are gentle on your skin.

316L Stainless Steel – Robust & Durable

A large part of our collection is made of 316L stainless steel (surgical steel).

Skin compatibility: Stainless steel is known for its corrosion resistance and is valued for its high skin-friendliness – a very good choice for most sensitive skin types.
Durability: The material is oxidation-free, does not tarnish, and retains its color.
Finishing: Gold-colored pieces usually get their color through high-quality ion plating with 18-carat gold. This process ensures high color fastness, which is significantly more robust than conventional gold plating.

925 Sterling Silver – The Classic

For delicate designs, we use genuine 925 Sterling Silver.

Rhodium plating: Many of our silver pieces are rhodium-plated. This fine layer of rhodium serves as protection and delays the natural tarnishing of the silver.
Gold plating: For gold-plated silver (gold vermeil or gold-plated sterling silver), a layer of gold is applied to the silver. Please note that this layer may wear off over time due to external influences – this is a material-specific characteristic and not a defect.

Handling Water & Moisture

We describe our stainless steel jewelry as water-resistant. To ensure you enjoy your pieces for a long time, we recommend:

Salt & chlorinated water: Stainless steel is very resistant. Nevertheless, we recommend rinsing the jewelry with clear tap water after contact with sea or pool water.
Sterling Silver: Silver should be removed before swimming or going to the sauna, as chemical reactions (especially with chlorine) can discolor the material.

Care Instructions for Lasting Shine

To optimally protect the surface finish (especially the gold plating):

Cosmetics: Only put on your jewelry after perfume, creams, or hairspray have dried.
Sweat: Avoid intensive contact with sweat if possible (e.g., during sports).
Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth for gentle cleaning.
Storage: Store your jewelry in a dry, light-protected place, ideally in a jewelry box.

Natural Details: Pearls & Zirconia

Freshwater pearls: We use genuine pearls, which as natural products can vary in shape and color – each pearl is unique.
Zirconia: These synthetic crystals offer a diamond-like sparkle with high suitability for everyday wear.
